Asteria Theatre

Built in 2024, the new Asteria Theatre is a state-of-the-art facility that is home to CMU's theatre and music department performances as well as professional touring companies and community events.

• Loading dock for touring productions.

• Acoustics designed for concerts as well as theatre productions with all aspects of design approved by
sound engineers from the angle of the walls to the materials used and the size and shape of seats.
• Large dressing rooms to satisfy a range of touring shows to the theatre from dance companies and touring musicals to orchestras and solo musical acts.
• Green room, two star suites, two dressing rooms and two chorus rooms.
• Rigging: Features a state-of-the-art Adamson IS7 line array and a full range of theatrical lighting fixtures from ETC, Chauvet Pro, and Vari-Lite . The theatre also boasts a full rigging grid, as well as a Gala Systems spiral lift orchestra pit, adjustable orchestra shells, and a robust back-of-house support area.

The Asteria Theatre is a three-tiered auditorium with a capacity of 860.

The Asteria Theatre Event Room holds a capacity of 75 with round tables and 150 in a theatre-style configuration.
